Workshop on Applied Machine Learning - Concepts and Case Studies

On January 4, 2017, the Workshop "Applied Machine Learning: Concepts and Case Studies" will be held at Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra. This event will feature speakers from Google-DeepMind, FeedZai, Wizdee, ISRUC and CISUC.
The initiative will be structured in talks and case studies. The talks will cover the most different topics, namely: Machine learning; Deep learning; Big data; Natural Computing; Data analytics; Data Visualization; Applied Artificial Intelligence. Applications and Case Studies will be presented in the following areas: computer vision, autonomous vehicles, mobile robotics, fraud detection, business intelligence, industrial processes, among others.
The objectives of this Workshop include the discussion and presentation of concepts, tools, challenges and applications in the area of Machine Learning and the open and proactive integration of students, researchers and companies in topics related to machine learning and artificial intelligence towards real applications.
Registration is free but limited. At the end of the event there will be a raffle of a book on Machine Learning to the previously registered participants.

This initiative is organized by the researchers Cristiano Premebida and Francisco Alexandre Souza from the Institute of Systems and Robotics (ISR - UC) of the University of Coimbra and Bernardete Ribeiro, Professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering of the University of Coimbra.
