RDForming - Robust Design of Sheet Metal Forming Processes to Reduce Productivity Losses
Description
This proposal aims to establish an efficient approach for measuring and modelling the different sources of scatter in sheet metal forming processes. The concept of robust design combined with numerical simulation of these processes is increasingly prominent, especially in the automotive and aeronautical industries.
The main objective of this work is to build a numerical tool able to perform robustness analysis of sheet metal forming processes, for predicting and avoiding the most common problems, such as flow localization and fracture, in order to increase the overall productivity.
