Description
Nowadays there is a need to get full value from the massive amounts of information gathered within each organisation. In big companies, data tends to be collected faster than it is analysed, making many organizations look for better ways to obtain value from the available information. To this end, they seek to provide information to their customers’ data in the most appropriate and efficient way. Additionally, the communication channels between companies and clients have changed over the last few years, an nowaydas they lean towards text based channels, namely chats. These chats are commonly used to provide support, and allow the user to interact with the companies products in a natural way. Information Visualization – the graphic representation of data – aims to provide visual means to extract useful knowledge from data, overcoming human and computational limitations. Therefore, visualization is perceived as a means of cognitive augmentation, making visible the information and relations in data through simple understandable images. Ultimately, Information Visualization, in particular visual analytics, aims at the discovering of new knowledge, supporting decision-making, engaging the user, and raising awareness. This project results from the collaboration between CISUC and Critical Software S.A. and aims at developing Information Visualisation artefacts that can be automatically selected by chatbots to improve the way they present the information to the users.Researchers
