SAP Implementation at GALP Energia
Authors
Abstract
We analyze the SAP implementation process at Galp Energia, the market leader in the energy business in Portugal. Due to the complexity of ERP implementations and their inherent risks, which, in some cases, have led successful companies to bankruptcy, we consider of extreme value to describe this case, since Galp is a top company in its business and has successfully implemented one of the most complex Information Systems in Portugal. Lessons from this case address integration and customization strategy, resistance to change and return on investment, and may prove valuable to other companies facing similar projects.
