B-mode images in estimating non-invasive temperature increase in ex-vivo tissue during ultrasound therapy
Authors
Abstract
This paper presents results of a method to estimate temperature change during therapy ultrasound by monitoring the greyscale average value of B-mode ultrasound images. An experiment was carried out with a bovine muscle sample heated by physiotherapeutic ultrasound work in continuous mode at 1 MHz and 2.0 W/cm2. Two thermocouples along its length, spaced of 8 mm, were used to estimate local temperature.
Keywords
