Wuzzy: A Real-Time Fuzzy Control Tool and its Application

Abstract

Wuzzy, presented in this paper, is a software tool for real-time control in Windows environment. It is suited to assist in the project, development and tuning of controllers, particularly fuzzy ones. It allows simulations and on-line changes of several choices inherent to fuzzy modelling and control systems. Wuzzy includes a parameter controller editor, a membership function editor, a rule editor, a rule viewer and simulation and visualisation tools.
To illustrate its usefulness, some fuzzy control methods were implemented and tested for the thermal process trainer PT326.
