Abstract
The technological revolution is recreating the current society and, therefore, is also transforming users. The experiences that were expected ten years ago progressed according to new forms and protocols. Users take a more participatory role by creating their own products and their own tools. Professions are beginning to be rethought and Graphic Design is no exception. Therefore, the nowadays professions focus deeper into the end user or viewer. Throughout this dissertation there is an attempt to understand how the new methods of Interaction Design can be adapted to the process of Signage and Wayfinding Design, and how the new technological means can be operated in order to solve problems and provide information, that would be impossible to solve and provide through traditional means. These concepts provide the root for a signage and wayfinding system for Colégio das Artes (College of Arts) building, which historical weight and peculiar arrangement make it imperative to create a system based on participatory concepts.
