An Introduction to the Network Services Management Framework

Authors

Abstract

The Internet Network Services Management Framework
conceptualization tried to overcome the most important
limitations of the most widely supported network
management framework of our days, the Internet Network
Management Framework, by defining a complete network
services management distributed architecture that
provided services management functions with any desired
level of functionality. This framework evolved from an
initial effort to a new version, named Network Services
Management Framework, which is now a reference
management framework conceptualization, capable of
been applicable on almost any computer network services
framework. This document introduces the architecture of
the later framework and presents the relevant
improvements from the original framework and its major
components: the Entity Access Control Model, the
Protocol Interactions definitions of the Management
Communications and the Service Management Function
concept. The article ends with some evaluation
considerations and conclusions.
