Short Bio

Licínio Roque obtained a PhD in Informatics Engineering from the University of Coimbra while developing "Context Engineering", a socio-technical approach to information systems development. He is Assistant professor at University of Coimbra where he teaches post-graduate courses on Human-Computer Interaction, Game Studies and Development, Software Engineering and Information Systems Development. He is Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University Master on Software Engineering Programs. Over the past 10 years he did research and development on diverse forms of participatory media in several application fields: e-government, decision support systems, online learning and multiplayer online games. He currently advises PhD thesis in the fields of Information Systems Research, Human-Computer Interaction and Digital Games Research. He is co-founder of Tapestry Software and the Portuguese Society for the Science of Videogames (SPCV).
